well up where you are Phil at least you don't have to dig your doorstep<LOL>. I have got the day off because Arriva have suspended most of the bus services between Wakefield-Leeds.Tip for anyone relying on buses, check the Metro site as many are suspended and the TV news aren't mentioning the fact.I had been standing at my stop for half an hour when a kind man told me about the situation!
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

Managed to be only 30 mins late today, it was steady going down Harrogate Road for the 36 from Ripon. There was a distinct lack of First buses coming into Leeds. It was well trailed on Twitter though - #36busInappropriately an H&D bus to Pateley Bridge was stranded at Summerbridge earlier on.Might have to brave the elements and catch the train to Harrogate from Burley Park on the way home if it gets worse. At least I'd only have another 10 miles to walk in the snow.
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

Given the weather more like a miracle! The BBC News is showing that LBA is closed to all flights.

I had a walk in Adel Wood in late morning and there were lots of pretty snow scenes. I thought this photo of part of Adel Crag gives a good idea of what was around. One thing about lying snow is that it makes some things even more obvious. For example, though no water was dripping out of the Babbling Baby Spring there was quite a good flow of water running along the path several metres further up such that it had washed away most of the snow there whereas the path was completely snow covered immediately above where the water was draining out of the ground.

From some experience of the Harrogate line I suspect the train was on time due to the vast majority of passengers deciding not to commute. The platform can take some time to be clear enough for the Conductor to be able to see its safe to shut the doors.Like Steve I normally travel into Leeds from Wakefield by bus. Fortunately, unlike Steve, I knew before I left home (courtesy of arriva's facebook page) that my bus wasn't running as all Wakefield based services were suspendeed. That meant the only public transport option Wakefield - Leeds was the train. Its normally like a game of Sardines for the morning commute on the Wakefield Line , one of the main reasons I prefer the bus, but this morning I could even have had a seat if I had wanted one for the 10 minutes or so from Outwood to Leeds.
