Usually shown at the end of term just before the summer holidays. Simple pleasures for a simpler time. TBH given that the tramway system owned large stretches of reserved track, and that it hadn't been destroyed by bombing in the war, I think that renewal would have been a better option than abandonment. But that's this country - we always take the short term view. Diesel is cheap therefore it will always remain cheap. Coal is obsolete so lets close all the pits. Short termism is the curse of this country and long termism has been the salvation of countries like Germany.

I remember the buzz about David Jason (As Frost, obviously) chasing somebody down Armley town street one time, he ran down past Carr Crofts and past (then) Supreme Pizza and then past the pub and down the stairs and past Frankie's hairdressers. Dem memories.

This dates from 2009 but I've only just re-discovered the photo so thought it worth posting on here as a record of a filming scene in Leeds.This was a scene from the second series of "Five Days", shown on the BBC in 2010 but filmed in 2009. It was filmed at the back of the E C Stoner Building at the University of Leeds, and the lettering was added to simulate the entrance to a hospital.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Days#Series_twoThey shot the same scene about seven times and we watched from our office windows. I could have sworn I'd posted a photo of this before but have searched the thread and can't find any trace of it, so my apologies if this is a re-post!

Pudsey baths/bus station/market appeared in one night-time scene on the new "The Syndicate" on telly the other night, although it's set in Bradford.

I have twice recently on Sundays seen a TV crew parked up at the car park of Braimes on Hunslet Road ,so I assume it is being used as a set for a programme.

I've never been lucky enough to see a film crew in Leeds...but my friend's fiancee worked for ITV for a while and (strangely) it housed the Countdown set of which she's been photographed on and even brought back a load of the letters for his birthday one time.
