You've got to wonder if Oasis or the High Flying Birds would ever have happened if it wasn't for the Beatles, haven't you..? I think we're meant to be honoured that Elton John is playing the opening gig at the arena, but he wouldn't have been my choice and certainly not at £65 a ticket! Still, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, as they say.PS - phill, I might have known we'd trace the crash back to you somehow....

Two sentences there that sum things up perfectly for me Phill Phill_dvsn wrote: I mean as in musical bands, not manufactured boy bands, that's not music.... ....It's a dying industry, killed off by the likes of Stock, Aitken, Waterman, who probably did more damage to the music industry than anyone else... My eldest daughter is fast approaching 25 years old and when I go to her house she often has contemparary music playing and moans at me when I tell her to turn that noise off.She argues with me that it is modern "music" but fails to understand when I try and explain its not music but computer generated noise, It might have a beat and consist of different musical sounds ( most of the time ) but to create music you have to use musical instruments, anything else created on any other medium is just noise.Strangely enough I walked in the other day to find her listening to a 70's compilation disc, perhaps there's hope for her yet lol

Artists like that being JLS?! I note they are booked for the Arena also in Sept.Suppose the concert sec. has to start somewhere! Might as well start at the bottom and work up!
