There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Hi Bramleygal Come to think of it we in Leeds say,or at least i say the days of the week without the a in day eg Tuesdy Wednesdy and so on.You could be right i might say Choosedy, omg i must be a school drop out.     IN Morley it's Monder, Tuesder etc. Saturday = Setder. The best was my brother in law, when the Vicar said "those whom God has joined together, let no man put assunder" my bro in law muttered "or Monder either"As for modern expressions I hate "going forward" whats'wrong with "in future?"

Kids having to play out in black school pumps (plimsolls/runners) whatever the weather cos that's all they had to put on their feet. Now the young 'uns buy them as a fashion choice, but in the sixties they were a sign your family couldn't affford proper shoes.
