Like Leodian,I prefer to taste the food ingredients rather than taste the inside of my mouth burning!

Jim, you're right. As a 20 year old after much beer, the Khagan Valley 'chicken repeater' seemed like a good idea. Not any more!

I accept though that curried foods seems to be enjoyed by many (if not most) people, but not me! Are you saying it doesn't curry favour with you, Leodian? That made me

It was a fantastic revelation for me when I found that the term 'curry' didn't have to involve mouth burning slop. There's loads of fantastic dishes from sweet to sour, or both, without curry powder or chillies to be seen.

My memory may of course be playing tricks (again) but I seem to remember that one of the major revelations about the KV after an environmental health visit (*) was that one of their speciality dishes was actually seagull.I am sure this was reported in the YEP.(*) or whatever they were called back in the seventies/eighties.

Yes, I seem to remember something like that in the YEP but I can't swear to it being the Kaghan Valley (as was). It would be an interesting extra challenge on the Otley Run these days (15 pints and a seagull curry)!

Ah! So was it a seagull repeater? If so, I've had plenty of them at the KV. I always wondered how they kept their prices down.
Is it me or has Leeds gone mad
