Hi jogon,yes.....maybe a bit old fashioned colour wise but to be applauded nevertheless.....blast from the past.As for the "badlands"....that's a very interesting topic.I've been doing some reading into this phenomenon lately.....not uniquely US but well known for it.Can't think what the nearest Yorks equivalent quite might be......would probably involve some old quarry/coal mining site.Nevertheless,an interesting subject.Oh for the old LCT buses in their beautiful green livery......happy times.

Please believe us Jogon that the lovely Hull livery you so liked is absolutely nothing to do with FirstBus - in fact the Hull area is mercifully largely free of FirstBus. The burgundy and cream is the livery of the superb East Yorkshire Motor Services, a very long established and honourable company which is still run by a REAL busman, Mr. Peter Shipp. The former municipal ("Corporation") services in Hull are, in this age of privatisation, run by the Stagecoach Group - and while I don't believe in privatisation of public services Stagecoach are one of the better groups from the passengers' point of view - but in the past have been cruelly and cripplingly harsh on their competitors - don't mention the word in Darlington, but that's another story from the early years of De-regulation in 1986.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
