Page 12 is fascinating. I particularly like the photo in the canteen with the photo's caption being "The cafeteria in the Canteen where dinners are served at a cost of 4d., 6d. and 8d. This Canteen is the largest in Europe".

It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
