SecretLeeds - History, culture and architecture in Leeds
does anyone know what 63 clarendon road (now ripon house) was in the late 1920s i am expecting it to be some sort of unmarried mothers home but cant seem to find out. i have a family members birth cert. with this address on . thanks
i had a quick look thanks, but not finding anything, i'll look again when i have more time. you wouldn't think it would be so hard to find out what a building was
I had a root about while having my lunch and have reference to 63 Clarendon Road in a few directories (see Google Book search the address for snippets) where it makes reference to St Faith's Home being at 63 Clarendon RoadUnfortunately I cannot find out much more at the moment other than it appears to have been for young women and girls and it appears to have been associated with St Georges church (as there are records of baptism from St Faith's Home in the West Yorkshire Archive Services archives)
thanks everone i looked into st faiths and spoke to someone today who told me she is sure its was st faiths association for moral welfare and is going to get back to me soon.but, please if anyone knows anything else about it let me know thanks again
