Our older readers may recall Eddie the Eagle Edwards Calgary 1988.A true self-funded amateur. The IOC took umbrage against him, introduced new rules to prevent him and others like taking part.Eddie (Michael Edwards) says:- "they said I was making a mockery of ski jumping, I wasn't taking it seriously, I was getting more attention than the guys who were winning. But the guys winning had no problem as I was bringing new interest to the sport"(7 page interview Summer 2012 'Cycling Active')In 2008 he was invited to Calgary anniversary and in 2010 he was chosen to carry the torch in Vancouver. Here in 2012 he was nominated by a Blind Charity as UK torch bearer but was snubbed.

Exactly, Post boxes can only be painted gold when all relevant newspapers and t.v broadcasters have been notified to be in attendance. That's fine! But people painting boxes for a thing called 'pride' then that's called vandalism when we can't get any profit from it!!Just thinking, are Royal Mail even on this special privilege list of companies allowed to advertise or mention the Olympics for profit? All little innocent firms like family bakers, cafes, and sweet shops get a visit from the Olympic Gestapo, they get told to take their offending articles out of the window. Where's the word 'stamp'? Got to get the last word in again game is it? You'd know all about that.

I just don't know how they manage to get all those twists and turns performed in about one and a half seconds! It is magical to watch.Back in the day when the LEEDS OLYMPIC BATHS were new, I remember getting to climb up to the top diving 'board'. Horrific http://youtu.be/Ub1YI7LF3e8
