I was quite amused(to myself) today after boarding a 13a bus from Middleton to town.As we traversed past what was the Middleton Arms, the very scantily clad young lady, sat next to me, about 20yrs old, pulls out a copy of "50 shades of grey"......a very racy little number indeed by all accounts.I,in contrast, was concentrating on the latest edition of LIDL bargains for the weekend !!!!!!!

2nd story today again revolves around a bus journey.I got the Arriva 481 bus towards Wakefield earlier....at Tommy Wass lights(site of old Rex cinema),two ladies boarded for a journey to Wakefield. The elder of the two duly showed her pass. The younger asked the fare (£2.40) and asked also if she could get the same service back from Wakefield to this boarding spot ???? "Yes,of course" says the driver."Why don't you get an all day ticket ?" £4.40 or alternatively a Metro west yorks ticket, enabling you to catch other service provider's buses for £5.20.The young lady very enthusiastically bought the more expensive option cooing that this would be great.Notwithstanding that she only wanted to go to Wakefield and back direct and that there is no other service provider on this particular route than Arriva. She also rang her friend to tell her the good news of her fortune in securing this all powerful day ticket and then shared the same story with her travelling companion for further approbation. She,too, seemed equally impressed !!!!! Funny things happen on buses.

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Still,I find it very difficult to understand at 9.00am how one can concentrate on this racy book and listen to the latest, loudest tunes imaginable through those things youngsters wrap around their lugs ! Multitasking ????Well,as they say,it takes all sorts to make this world.Wonder what was going through her head at that time ? .....on second thoughts,we won't go there.I was happy with my "bargains"......easily pleased these days
