Could it be one of the reported but probably not confimed missile launching sites in case of attack during the Olympic Games? Good guess, but not quite right. It looks a little more glamourous from the inside than outside, and I'm sure you've all seen it many times by now Some kind of broadcasting studio/room ? Indeed, looking not as posh from the outside as it does within

It's a 1960's tower block due for demo, the remaining residents aren't pleased with the B.B.C presence to say the least! http://www.london24.com/news/stratford_ ... _1_1226313

Fans told to leave postboxes alone!!*Royal Mail has urged excited fans to leave the painting of postboxes to their staff after one was given a bronze makeover in honour of the British women's hockey team*http://uk.news.yahoo.com/fans-told-leav ... .........I get the feeling Royal Mail have started something they wished they hadn't, they're seems more falling out about the locations chosen than celebration. We only need a Silver post box now!!Unless.....I was reading that Team G.B have come last, and finished in the bottom three more times than any other country.Overall, the Brits have eight last-place finishes, 11 second-to-last finishes and 12 third-to-last finishes. Their total of 31 is eight more than its next closest competitor, Ukraine.http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/olympics ... -OlympicsI think we should have a name and shame post box in each city of the guilty straggler. Paint the post box black with a big Royal Fail sticker slapped on it That should encourage them to do better next time

Phill...Love your idea..lol.I have watched the games for as long as I can remember and really enjoy them. However, it's the enjoyment of seeing the athletes compete that I enjoy, the country winning the most medals is not important to me.The gold pillar boxes were a fun idea but that's where they should have remained, just an idea in someone's head.Commemorative stamps/First Day Covers have always been the best keep-sake and tribute in my opinion.

This guy has been arrested for vandalism of a post box.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ha ... 9223242Rob Smith 51 with his custodial charge sheet!I'm not a big fan of Royal Mail, or they're fake excuse for celebration, which really means nothing more to them than opportunistic profiteering via media hype. I never forgot the time they had the Princess Diana commemorative stamp on sale before the ink on her death certificate had even dried. Their greedy haste was distasteful to say the least. They are the only company in the country to have the Royal name and insignia attached, yet they couldn't give the workers the day off to watch the funeral. They were very quick to profit over her death, but very reluctant to show any kind of respect. They're was so much bad publicity aimed at them at the time they had no option but to back down.

book wrote: What a waste of pubic money, charging the guy for this, pathetic! Exactly, Post boxes can only be painted gold when all relevant newspapers and t.v broadcasters have been notified to be in attendance. That's fine! But people painting boxes for a thing called 'pride' then that's called vandalism when we can't get any profit from it!!Just thinking, are Royal Mail even on this special privilege list of companies allowed to advertise or mention the Olympics for profit? All little innocent firms like family bakers, cafes, and sweet shops get a visit from the Olympic Gestapo, they get told to take their offending articles out of the window.
