Jogon wrote: There was a bungalow (still there) built in a corner of it, road access from Lidgett Lane http://goo.gl/maps/amHr5 It was a friendly Irish fella who lived down there, I remember him when doing my stint as a postie. He used to drive a clapped out old car, possibly a Volvo. I remember he had this big statue of Laurel and Hardy in his garden, they were full size figures. He had a few other eccentric things dotted about the garden. They looked good and I really liked them. It's funny because I saw a photo on flickr a few months back of a second hand shop in Leeds with a statue of Laurel & Hardy stood outside. I'm just wondering if they were the same ones? There can't be many of those to be found in Leeds. I'll see if I can find the photo.    Found it The Trash & Treasure shop Meanwood.

It was in this garden here with the bungalow tucked away round the back, although I can't see his garden oddities on this view. http://binged.it/P3GEXhThe time I'm talking about is going back to around 2005.

Thanks for the pics Jogon, I know the location of number one photo straight away. The second one will take a bit more working out, it looks so different changing from fields to an estate.

23rd October 1934. Allerton Grange Way from Gledhow Valley Road.New road under construction to Lidgett Lane.To my eye there is new build centre left, but mid right appears to be an older stone cottage? Old maps anyone?

There is a building marked on maps there, sadly it's not marked as anything on any dated maps going back to 1908.
