I remember when the Atlanteans started to replace the back loaders and the old drivers couldn't get used to letting people on at the front! You used to have to run to the front of the bus as he overshot! They still had conductors on then as the old boys couldn't master the ticket machine

Thanks carrotol, good sense of humour! I'm doing my best to stick with relevant stuff to why this website was created. It's good to hear all these recollections & glad it's brought back some good memories. Have you any old pics from those days?

I can. Things changed very slow in those days. Nothing really started to get modern untill the early 80's i'd say with the advent of the video recorder & remember the first telly games console tennis thing? People in the old days couldn't adapt to change unlike these days. We get a mobile phone & within a few months it's antiquated. Yes i bet it was a shock to your dad. Good you still have the pocket watch momento!
