Yeah, the worst thing Is Si I'm doing my best to avoid seeing it, I usually have news 24 on talking away to itself If I'm using the p.c. They seem to do a little news, and then it seems to go on to full coverage of the games and little else. I've lost count of the number of times I've turned it over. I resorted to ITV3 last night lol

Get into the spirit of the Games. If you need a reason, I think I spotted something tonight that may give you a reason to watch and keep an eye out for the same sort of thing.Tonight we (Team GB if you're curious) gave Argentina a pasting at hockey. One of our players is called Middleton. And guess what number he sported on the back of his shirt. I'll save you the effort of watching any replays and tell you. Eighteen.Only took me a second to see the connection so you should be faster than that.I'm watching beach volleyball now wondering whether the Australian girl with fourteen on her back might be called Half Mile Lane.Enjoy the sport!

As Lennon one said about the song....."The End" That's Pauls song, he had a line in it "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make" which is a very cosmic, philosophical line. Which again proves that if he wants to, he can think!!Pity about him not being able to sing these days though, mind you he is knocking on a bit I guess

Hi salt 'n pepper - I genuinely do appreciate your well meant encouragement, but its no good - I've never b een able to summon up even a whimper of interest in sports and games - it doesn't trouble me as I have more other interests than I can't even begin to keep up with, so there we are - we're all different I suppose I still have my old school report book from 1947/1952 and I often have a wry smile at a comment one term from the games master - a tyrant who'd no interest whatever in anyone who didn't excel at games - in fact he openly applied sadistic venom to us which, rightly or wrongly, he would never get away with today !!His tribute to my prowess stated "His rare appearances on the sports field make assessment difficult."
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
