Talking of the London 2012 Olympic Games it's hard not to have a bit of sympathy with this torch bearer over a misspelt tattoo:- http://tinyurl.com/d6m7hb5

The funniest thing that I've seen about it is the Specsavers advert. I saw it in this morning's "i" newspaper. It is funny and Specsavers were very quick to pick up on it. JD

I've always found any kind of sport absolutely boring so the Olympics are going to be a total non event as far as I am concerned. They said on the telly that the taxpayer had stumped up 9 billion pounds for this ,mainly for construction of the stadia and associated stuff. We couldn't afford that even before the recession let alone now!

Might I suggest that everyone ceases and desists from using the "O" word on this website as to do so contravenes the acts of parliament set up to protect the interests of fizzy pop makers and rubbish-quality "fast" "food" establishments.I ought also to remind everyone that the name of our nation's capital is, from the beginning of this calendar year until 2022, the sole trademark of said burger-vendors and said fizzy-rubbish sellers. Anyone not in possession of a receipt from a politician for "payment in kind" should hereby and forthwith omit from any statements or musings any mention of "games", our nation's capital, the "O" word, running, jumping, throwing, or any number of words proscribed by McBurger-Coke-PLC's GB Government [TM}.

You hit the nail right on the head, to me it's someone who said, right chaps, think of the most boring and tedious sports you can ever imagine, then lets put them all together and make the Olympics. All I can see is this when I see Olympic events.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8i6Jjp- ... t=28sRound and round we go Or I can see someone throwing a stick for a dog any day. Yet people are in hysterics over the thing Wake me up when it's finished pls

The "Monty Python Silly Olympics", looks interesting. It's held every 3.7 years and competitors attend from 4 million countries. The premier events being the 100 yards for people with no sense of direction. 1000 meters for the deaf. In the pool, 200 meters for non-swimmers. Back on the track, marathon for the incontinent and the 3000 meters for people who think they are chickens. Some interesting events I'm sure you'll agree.
Daft I call it - What's for tea Ma?

I'm trying my best to remain positive about the whole thing......which ain't easy.I quite enjoyed the first couple of hours of the opening ceremony as a spectacle(arise Sir Danny Boyle in a couple of months or so)....it was very well choreographed and put together. The Queen/Daniel Craig(Bond) bit creased me......so,I wont criticise this first few hours or so.The bigger issue is a different kettle of fish and brings out all the worst of what represents corporatism....if ever there was such a word.If I ever see a McDonalds or Coke advert again,I will throw up.....
        I'm not just anybody,I am sommebody !
