Get the Civil Parking Enforcement Officers (CPEO's / traffic wardens) away from wandering around Park Square all afternoon and onto known bottlenecks like Quebec Street / Bishopsgate Street to keep things flowing.The red routes should be extended to other key feeder routes, such as Neville Street where one private hire taxi waiting for a fare outside the Hilton frequently backs traffic up onto the M621 by reducing traffic flow by 50%. CPEOs patrolling these streets too please.The timings of the traffic lights also needs to be addressed - I drive parts of the Loop every day and the lights don't follow on smoothly so you are forced to stop frequently - bad for traffic flow, bad for emissions too. More time on green, particularly for traffic already on the Loop (rather than traffic joining it / crossing it), plus flexible change cycles that can be altered as necessary by someone at Urban Traffic Control.Change the hours allowed at certain on street parking bays to ensure maximum road width is available at the peaks. For example the bays on St Pauls Street (just before the right turn onto Park Sq near Pizza Express) and Queen Street at the junction with Wellington Street should both be suspended after 4pm so there is adequate room for traffic to make the most of the available road rather than being backed up. If you use either of these roads you'll know what I mean.None of this is rocket science and could be achieved at minimal cost, but there seems to be a real lack of will to make any changes.

Good,sound points ravey.....I particurlarly note the one about the Hilton.I pass by here frequently and am amazed how much standing traffic is allowed to "wait" outside,thus blocking off one lane of a major arterial inroad to the city.These range from taxis,delivery vehicles,cars whose drivers are lost/cannot find a parking space within,to large coaches/buses dropping off a full complement of passengers.Whoever decided to site this particular hotel here has a lot to answer for to the motorist struggling to negotiate this particular inbound route !
