I'd second that one Blakey and "hop aboard".I've read somewhere that if a petition recieves 100,000 signatures,it warrants parliamentary debate ? (or did I just dream it ?)Perhaps we should re-start the Luddite movement (lol).... It's true as long as the petition is accepted in the first place and, let's be realistic here, the whips actually want to spend some time on it. I believe two have got through to the debating stage so far. The better option would be to let your councillor and your MP know. You might say 'oh, that won't do anything' but it will make them aware of the strength of feeling. Use http://www.writetothem.com/ .

I'm all for setting up a proper campaign group, fact finding and statistics e.t.c. I think digging up the whole scandal of the thing over the years is long overdue too. It's the old story, you have to make your voice a very loud one to be heard!

Phill, I'd be game too. It would have been better when First had everything in their grip a few years ago but it would be easy enough to collect all the facts as a response to the happy-clappyness of the council and the BBC and YEP.

GOING BACK TO PHILS ROUTE THE TRICK WOULD BE TO CONNECT KIRKSTALL ROAD WITH the unused trackbed which starts by scotland forge site.

Now that would be brilliant to tie that route in too, I'm going to look at street view now, see what we can come up with Just out of curiosity, I followed Stanningley Road on street view all the way down to the Albion pub to see how it would work as supertram, Well blow me, if not nearly all of it has reserved centre reservation, or large expanse of spare grass down the whole route nearly from Bramley Town end. http://goo.gl/maps/8zYjInstead of having a T.Bus route with only 700 yards of segregated running, you'd have a supertram route with little more than that actually running mixed with traffic.

Really I think a good documented reason/webpage/similar why it shouldn't go ahead would be a good idea as well.

Yes, Kirkstall Road is another good route with a good potential for segregated running too, a gradient bridge to lift them up to run on the Harrogate Viaduct. So much potential using light rail, once you get a good run of segregated track you can connect into it all over the place.

Phil, you have convinced me that the supertram would be a better idea. The trolley bus is a fix but not a solution. I would encourage EVERYONE on here that reads this to sends the link ot the petition to all their friends and contacts in Leeds in their email. This must be stopped. The transport at the moment isn't that bad after all, I think the Tbus will make it worse.
