The guided route behind the Arndale Centre could be built for Diesel buses and that would have the greatest affect for speeding up the Otley Road Route. I don't think they'd get that route behind the arndale done now, it involves knocking stuff down and going over limited green space and I think the locals have had enough of being walked over by the council for the benfit of commuters and the universities.

They're taking off all over, including Sheffield and Manchester. I think they look really, really good, there are a whole load of photos of them on this article herehttp://inhabitat.com/europes-grass-lined-green-railways-good-urban-design/

Nice one Phill - didn't Leeds used to have it's very own 'greenway trams' to places like Middleton...Just a thought, looking at the pic you've posted on the trolley bus (and others elsewhere online) - how tall are the wires? Would a double decker bus fit safely under them (or for that matter a decent height truck)? Presumably there is a minimum clearance above any other vehicle required for safety reasons, or are we going to see some types of vehicle banned from using certain roads?

A lot look low enough for a bus or truck to foul in my opinion, all except the old archive trolleys that were double decksThey'll certainly hit the one in Leeds if this is anything to go by

I reckon that if we have to walk to the back if getting on at the front it will be time to get off just as we finally reach the back. Oh Yes, that's the Leeds spin doctors artists impression to try fool people it's any good (and can do more than a bus..not)They forgot to add this bit to their fanciful drawing though Leo You notice how they always draw these things with hidden wheels? It's as if they're trying to make it look like it floats along and doesn't use road tyres.
