Thanks Ste. Just as Si says it's the old central viaduct. That one really WAS a tough challenge to get up. I can safely say i'm the only one to conquer it to date

Phill, you say in the blurb on the flickr Photo's that the viaduct is severed at both ends. Is it? I remember walking that as a kid in the lat 70's and a ramp at the gyratory end. it, the ramp, curls up from behind the van hire place. Or at least it used to.

Oh right. Suppose I divulged more than I should then eh? Like I said, I remember sneaking up there in the late 70's, it was well grown over then. Even, probaly in 80'ish when the viaduct was totally severed, near Doncaster Monkbridge a mate and I climbed up the vertical bit to walk along it. Talk about stupid kids!! Would love to go up again, but Iv'e been there and will gladly leave the Indianna Jones escapades to those better equiped to do so.. got for it Phill

Nice one as ever Phill!I drive around here all the time and have often fancied getting onto the viaduct - you've got some great and really different views of the city - especially as its all changing round here so much.Where you started from is very close to an area we looked at in depth on a thread a few months ago - the site of the 'Lemi' (Mill Green Recreation Ground)

Thanks Carrotol mmm permision? I think of it this way if you try get permision & explain you want to capture & document some heritage then the very people you ask are often so short sighted they can't see it's important to capture things before it's too late then they say no! There really not worth asking in the first place are they? The means justifies the end in my book. After all if your responsible and just go about your business quietly in stealth mode then your upsetting no one! Yeah thats right Drapsey. You can see how you can't reach the subways at all these days as there cut off either side of the embankement by new industrial units heavily fenced off. The road bridge is still there but it's impossible to get down that section at all this time of year. I can't remember the street name but it's only the lemmy thread with a pic of the street as it was.
