First naming buses after Leeds people anyone got the full listhere are the ones i've seenChris Moyles Liz DawnPaul HunterMelanie Brown, Jane TomlinsonJimmy Saville.

It's an amazing coincidence that you should do a thread on this Flickerfree as I saw the name 'Billy Bremner' on a bus today and wondered if buses were being named after Leeds connected people.

It's quite funny actually, when I worked on the post, they changed it all round and had extra Royal Mail crew buses being brought in to each delivery office. A note went up asking if anyone wanted to apply for the positions e.t.c.Anyway one of the older guys who used to work on the L.C.T buses applied for it, we had a right laugh saying we can't have him for driver, he'll see you rushing out with the heavy post bag and drive off! They must be copying Eddie Stobart, they name their lorry's after their employees children. I remember some stories about bus conductors but Blakey will probably know plenty more.Woman at bus terminus - does it go to Bramley?Conductor - noWoman - it says Bramley on the frontConductor - it says India on the tyres but we don't go there

Oh indeed I do Book - a priceless treasure trove of happy experiences and many of them quite unprintable One of my favourites just before I retired concerns a very sarcastic driver we had at Pontefract Depot - he's still at Castleford now , Hi Barry . He came into the canteen and told us this gem :-"Well, I was just sitting in Doncaster waiting for departure time with 410 Leeds on the front when this woman approached the bus and gazed up at the display long and hard.Then she said "Do you go to Leeds ??"I looked at her for a minute and then I said "By gum missis, that destination blind's a dead giveaway isn't it ??"

I still remember the driver of the last bus home.My first 'night in town' mid 70's.As I got to the stand our eyes met and he shut the doors and started to reverse out, I knocked on the door and passengers on board called to him and pointed to me.I tried the emergency open button but he must have had his finger on shut.Off he went, pleased with himself. The bus co down the exact fare I had clutched in my young hand.A long walk home, and God Bless the bench 1/2 way up Gledhow Ln. But there's more good folk than bad.
