Please see my post in the other thread regarding free parking in Leeds. I have done a lot of research and knowledge into what I've done. I'm coming up with a Google Maps app which shows where free parking exists without restrictions on non-private land. I will be posting this as soon as I can but not entirely finished yet. I'll keep you posted but have over 30 free parking locations so far close to Leeds City Centre! The parking war is on!!

Great, as long as the guy with the yellow line machine isn't following you!
Is it me or has Leeds gone mad

I went in to labour and went to LGI and my partner parked in the spaces at the end of Great George Street. He put the full amount on it would let him but as my labour lasted 23 hours it obviously ran out. This was on a Saturday so going in to Sunday morning and he mentioned to a nurse that he needed to go put more money on the meter. She told him not to bother that the parking charges were almost as high as the fine and if he could prove where he was and what he was doing then he wouldn't have to pay.He did get a ticket, he appealed it and got it dropped.Don't know if it would work for everyone but this was in 2006.

I had to go for a gastroscopy yesterday, I usually have to go to either Cannock or Stafford hospitals, (for those not in the know I now live in t'Midlands) where the price is £2 per hour or part of, but they sent me to the Sir Robert Peel Hospital in Tamworth instead. Further away but the added bonus was the parking was FREE! This is the first time I have ever encountered FREE parking in a Hospital grounds. Anyone know of any others?
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

Over the last twelve months i have been haveing treatment at Jimmys and the LGI.Over the last two weeks i have had to go to Jimmys twice this has cost me over ten pounds in parking fees i have to go this Wednesday for a pre assement thats going to cost me another few pounds. My point is why should you i have to pay when it is all part off my on going treatment it all depends which department i have to go to if i have to pay or not.Well i feel a bit better now thats off my chest.     Are you still attending Jimmy's Tilly ?A little info on local parking.Stoney Rock Lane,up to 4 hours just below/opposite the cemeteryand between the Sportsman and the church.Unrestricted area lower down opposite the school, the rest of the road is residents only. There is a new car park at the rear of Jimmy's on Gledhow Road on an old school site, 2 quid all day AND patrolled
