Ramsdens was good but once the PLCs buy out family businesses and portion control and maximising profit becomes king then it's time for change for me personally. There is an extremely good chippy at Wooslesford opposite the Coop but not a restaurant. Bryan's and Brett's at Headingley are both good. Nash's at Chapleallerton too. There is a good one at Guiseley opposite Morrisons, ony a few tables but very good and friendly.

bookWhat are you doing in a silver mine? If you don't mind me?    You're handy for Hexham (though it's a shame Robbs shut).

I spent a wet week in a caravan in Nenthead a couple of weeks ago, lovely walking, taking pictures of lead and silver mine entrances. The Trust in Nenthead has disbanded and a new Trust is being established to promote the heritage centre and historic mining tourism. I did go to Hexham and Barnard Castle, very nice places. Hexham must be a fairly affluent place, I could tell by the clothes for sale in the charity shops. I'm back in gods own county now so will change my location.
