Why do people think it's not that accurate? Apart from the wrong coloured car in the drive, I can see a shed load of changes to the area, apart form new builds the terrain don't change does it?

My apologies for resurrecting an old thread and if this is old news. Also, I know this isn’t specific to Leeds [yet] but Google Earth have added aerial photos from 1945 to their timeline. Currently they cover London, Midlands and West Midlands, Merseyside, South Wales and Tyneside. Fingers crossed for when they get to covering Leeds.Does anybody know when Google started doing this?

Seen something today I've not noticed before on Google Earth.In the lower left corner the date the current imge was produced is shown. Next to this is a clock face and a 'year' box. Click on the box and a tool bar opens at the top of the image.This is a time line allowing you to view images from the various dates at which the scanning was done. For Leeds, zooming quite a way out, the earliest images seems to be 1999 - the resolution is variable and often not good with incomplete coverage.It is interesting to see how the quality has improved over time, and it allows you to see some features (and buildings) which have disappeared over the last ten years or so.

Just checked that out and the images for our house, here in t'Midlands, hasn't been updated since 2005.
