Cheers Jogon. As I did not scramble over any wall it's likely that I went through that entry to get into the area around where the cottage would have been. If I did I did not though spot that large lump of concrete that you had wondered if it might have been used to cover the old pump or well. Assuming that the cottage was where there is still rough ground then there may still be signs of where it was, if only some remaining stone/brick work. I shall have another look around at some stage.

It may be just a concrete lump Leo, hope this shows where, may tie in with capped pump/well. Just behind tree right of shot.
