Ha ha yes I know what you mean but is it in service? Or is it a smokescreen. It does look like the road that runs from morris lane to Kirkstall road or down to the abbey but the only other topography I can think of like that is at Old Farnley I once had 96 Headingley up on a wypte bus in Westminster London, now that was seriously off route and I wasn't booked for it.
Is it me or has Leeds gone mad

I don't know Blakey, I'm not sure if you remember, but I'm sure someone will remember Ronnie Outhwaite from Middleton garage? A small chap he was who used to live down my mums street. He would come home a lot at dinner time in a half cab bus early 70's, I used to think it was great having a bus in our street, and you should see how narrow the roads and corners are off Boggart Hill. Cliff Wade used to live next door to him, he was a mechanic at Seacroft garage, I'd often get a lift up to Seacroft if he was bringing in an out of service, defective, or spare bus to the garage if I saw him in town. Good old days

Ronnie Outhwaite was the Engineering Supervisor at Middleton, so I suppose he could get away with it. Great bloke and well liked.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

Yes I remember Ronnie Outhwaite very well - a very nice chap indeed. This picture now has me completely baffled and I reluctantly give in.The road in front of the bus appears to slope very gently down, and that is the case, almost imperceptibly, after Abbey Walk and just before the junction with Vesper Road - but everything else must have altered totally beyond recognition (hardly surprising since the 1950s) and I just have a nagging feeling that Morris Lane is perhaps a little wider than that ??
