I can't believe no-one has mentioned Co-op 99 loose leaf tea! My old nan used to swear by it.I must admit I'm more of a coffee drinker now if I'm in the mood for a hot beverage, although if it's tea than it's Taylors Yorkshire tea bags.

My memory is that the Kardomah was a bit lower down Albion Street than Boots, not further up! I thought it was about where the sports store was where there is currently a lot of work going on. I'm confused now!

I shared a flat with some Asian lads from Bradford too many years ago. They used to make a milk-based Tea that featured cinnamon and root ginger. Sounds weird but was lovely.

There certainly was a Kardoma on Briggate, on the opposite side of the road from the Empire. It had a bit of a dodgy reputation in the 50's, which always seemed strange to me for what amounted to a cafe. I'm not sure when it closed but if pressed I would say sometime in the 60's.

I know its not loose tea, but last year I discovered that Sainsbury's Basic's teabags - 27p for 80 tea bags are brilliant. Its fair trade tea too and I'd say its easily as nice as tetleys etc. Mind you dont touch the other supermarkets similarly priced value teabags cos they are RANK!
