Cheers Davey - I missed that post. Does this mean that all the stops on oher routes which have been altered and had extended no stopping/parking restrictions put in place have been a wasted expense I wonder?

Chameleon I think I started a thread on supersize buses when I noticed that almost all the bus stops on the A61 had road markings that extended about 3 times the length of a bus. To my knowledge an in service bendy bus has never used any of those stops on the a61 so I doubt the ones to which you refer were specifically for the FTRs. I would think the only bus stop modifications that were directly down to FTR/Bendys would be to move the stop further away from a junction .

The "extended" bus stop marking are, apparently, to allow the bus to pull in, stop and then pull away from the kerb in the allotted area. One of the most ridiculous modifications to bus stops is what has taken place on South Parkway, where the kerb has been extended out into to read, so the bus stops in the main carriageway, rather than pulling in. This narrows the road to such an extent (especially where there are pedestrian refuges sighted in the middle of the road) that it is now almost impossible to pass a bus when it is stopped at a bus stop, leading to queues of frustrated motorists behind each bus.The only exception to this is the pull in bus stop by the junction with Kentmere Avenue, which the local residents now use for parking, meaning that the bus blocks the carriageway again....

You may well be right, though it has not happened universaly. Many of the ftr route stops coincide with the other direction sufficiently to bring traffic to a halt. Then there are those which remain strategically placed just before/after traffic calming chicanes!I'ver not seen any moved, just residents finding their house frontages have become largely unnecessarily large bus stops.
