The Milford working mens used to opposite, near the Rising Sun.http://www.closedpubs.co.uk/yorkshire/l ... htmlCheers Yorkie Oh heck Yorkie - egg on red face again here, my apologies. I am thinking of the Cardigan Arms on the right - the Rising Sun is also on the right, but has recently become - wait for it - a second hand furniture store. I should be ashamed, living only a mile from the area, and vsiting the Kirkstall Road Post office very frequently. No doubt the Milford was on the left and in my early "on the buses"days I remember all the buildings along there as far as opposite Haddon Place where the survivors still are. There was an Embassy Cinema with a modernish frontage which later became a Woolworths can you believe ?? Thanks again for rattling the grey matter here - as my old teachers used to put in the reports "must try harder."
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

ParksiderMany years ago (before computers) a guy in the pub trade left me with the same question but said the first 'pub' on your left after City Square was the White Cross at Guiseley Roundabout way up near Harold Ramsdens.Having looked at it on a bike ride a year or so I think he's wrong and you are correct - winner. And it's a pub I've never been in. They ought to advertise that fact.
