Geordie-exile wrote: That link takes me to the map view, could you post the street view again? I'm getting lost now with all these links. What I was meaning was when you follow the road as if you're in the street view I was expecting the distant woods to appear on the horizon and they didn't, unless I've been using the wrong link. Mind, I've had a couple of Saturday night gin and limes. Yep the map view is to illustrate the feasability of trees in the background. This http://g.co/maps/gwwcr is roughly where I think the original shot is from. Agreed there are no trees in the background and the streetview camera was certainly mounted higher than the driving compartment of a transit which is probably where the original image was filmed from Edited to add link I forgot to add

Right Phil the pic you have attached is roughly herehttp://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=dewsbury+road&ll=53.779367,-1.544689&spn=0.000277,0.000431&hnear=Dewsbury+Rd,+Leeds+LS11,+United+Kingdom&t=h&layer=c&cbll=53.779367,-1.544689&panoid=RHV-kjiF7LIFaQN6Fn72yw&cbp=12,5.88,,0,3.92&z=21the building here was a tree lined yard where I'm totally 100% certain the camera was set up.http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=dewsbur ... &z=21Stand in it's yard (bare in mind no building then only a yard with trees)then look round 180 to see the hordings which are newer and slightly further down from the conny club entrance ones shown in the clip, these newer hordings lead to the Brickfield and can confuse perspective.none of the trees or new buildings You see over the bank were there then it was the all weather pitch for Arthur Greenwood middle school. Also Lo and behold the bus lane is more or less in the same place as the clip.

This is fascinating stuff. If the only information I had was that it was in Leeds and I was asked where I thought it was taken I could easily persuade myself that it was on Scott Hall Road near the Buslingthorpe Lane junction with Bronte House on the right.

To the left in the near foreground was St Peters churchyard with trees, some of which may have initially survived the church's demolition and the building of the sheltered housing The reason I lean towards Moor Road is if the pic was taken from higher up, the bus stops wouldnt be where they are. You can see the pelican crossing lights in the distance, if the pic was from Dobson Place the stops would be after the crossing. I believe these to be the stops outside St Peters before they were moved a little further along away from the sheltered housing. It's the camera's effect of squashing the depth of view up close making distances difficult to fathom.
