Have started a contract on wednesday to repair/revamp all the lighting at rhe grand arcade., inside & out.,which is no small job.also their was a plasterer in the cross arcade repairing the walls.,so it appears the landlords are attempting to smarten it up a bit. Also took a couple photos of the rear of the clock with the carved characters still stood on the turntable waiting to see faylight once again.,will post them up at weekend if i can work out how.,and believe it or not.the main lighting comtrol panel is behind the clock of all places.,and only access is via a trapdoor on the umderside.

Great stuff, who is actually responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the clock do you know?I'd love to get some detail photos of the characters and workings of it myself.

On a 4:3 screen you will have to scroll if its set up for a 16:9 resolution. But I agree that long links will cause a problem.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

It will be a sad day if we loose that clock there is nothing else like it in Leeds or most other citys i should think. We must save the clock when i was a kid if i was in town i would have to go to see the clock strike the hour before going home has did lots of people. There is no reason why it should not happen again if the shops in there were childrens shops then they would have bums on seats if you know what i mean If you have the right product then people will beat a path to your door.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.

geordxdivvent myek fun of me pet, ah knaa yeerea canny lass? really Ref the clockcan we go back to the original inscription="..above an inscription from Macbeth, "Come what may, time and the hour runs through the roughest day",two knights with battleaxes would bash out the hour, whereupon the doors of Windsor Castle...would creak open, and out would whirr a saluting guardsman followed bythe bowing figure of a kilted Scotsman, andIrishman with his shillelagh, a Canadian trapper, andan obsequious Indian, the tablea being completed by thecockerel which flapped its wings and crowed like the one in the Pathe newsreel.."K Waterhouse City Lights p34
