The photo (which I took on December 16 2011) shows a view into the gated small unnamed yard off Central Road on the left just before and looking to Duncan Street. This yard does not seem to be there in maps in the Old Maps UK website up to 1894 but seems to be there in a 1908 map and is definitely there in a 1910 map. It is not often I get to see into gated yards in the centre of Leeds and it was by chance that I saw this one (I think the refuse collectors were due or had been). It may not be a significant yard in the history of Leeds but I think it is of interest (well I hope so! ). There's a lot of pipework on the buildings! This link should bring up a Google maps view looking down onto the yard which is in the centre of the view. http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=53. ... 0,13.916,0
