I can see why some people may somehow feel "left out" and that a small number of members "Run" the site but that is purely unintentional, everyone who wants to positively contribute to this site is welcomed with open arms, and i can only hope that those persons who wish to contribute do so (as long as we are not talking about chapped legs and ointment!!) and feel that they will be ackowledged accordingly.     Hope you are not having a go at me there cnosi. I submitted to the thread "Childhood Smells" and consider it fair comment! No, I'm sure cnosni is referring to his own clapped out legs, not your post Fair enough.
Daft I call it - What's for tea Ma?

I know many people will have changed address, gone away or simply got bored but I have wondered before about the worth of suggesting dsco send a mass 'Wish you were here' email to everyone registered (mods don't have access to addresses by the way, unless members make them available on their profiles).

I’m still here too. I don’t post any more / less frequently than I ever have done although I do read all the posts.

As a one-year newbie, I find it pleasing that more established posters use good-humoured digs and personal banter to lighten up some of the topics discussed.I`ve often thought it a good idea to invite people of experience into a comfortable room with a crate of wine and a tape recorder to rescue their knowledge. This site partly fulfils that purpose, and helps spread ideas around in a painless way. All the best for this year.Glax

Hi, I'm here nearly 3 years but have only been checking in regularly in the last couple of months. The banter between those who know each other is only what one would expect of any similar board. This site is a great resource and long may it continue.

I joined April 2007 but a cock up at my end meant a re-register and name change, and I know of at least two other members who did the same , so perhaps not so much disappearing members but same face new name. Some posts can at first appear a bit more "Matey" then is usual for a public forum hence the clique argument, but if You stop and think about it for a second , a lot of the members here are actually mates ( I was a member of a trust with one and worked with another) or have met outside the forum hence more familiar personal references, first name terms in replies etc. This could, sometimes , give the impression for example that You're not part of the gang, when in reality nothing could be further from the truth.Although My posts are few I have always experienced politeness and courtesy from forum members and a willingness to help, one of My first posts concerned a lost pub in Beeston and within a day Drapesy who didn't know Me from Adam had posted pics info and so on giving up His time etc when He could easily have not bothered. I have always found that a request for help always brings an answer regardless of who You are. A final thought on site moderation.Anyone who thinks the Mods here are unfair/over-zealous I suggest You look at say a certain ex "steel city" forum not a million miles south from here and then have a rethink. The Mods on our site ,In My opinion, are very even handed and fair and will go through a decision with You rather than implement the no discussion My-word-is-law policy of the aforementioned site, with all due respect to Them. So whether You call them PhilD or Digger Cnosni or Chris pull up a chair and be happy to know You are amongst friends.Sorry for the long rant!!Regards.Kango

Any forum can seem cliquey when a new member joins, I felt the same when I joined but being a member on other forums helps to alleviate that feeling. Even now I sometimes feel that I am being ignored as I have said some things in the past that weren't possibly acceptable, and I apologised. People do come and go, and a lot only comment on stuff they know about or have anything to add to. I know absolutely nish about the skulls or anything to with trams or LCT buses so I can't comment on them. But I do try and I help where I can. I hope this site stays. It is a very good source of information, I have learned loads about my home city that I would never have without Secret Leeds, and I hope the stuff I have contributed has been helpful, the DVD rips etc etc.Happy 2012
