The InTime was half way up the ramp on the left hand side (going up), and the door is still there, It was owned by two brothers, of either Italian or Greek extraction. In the early seventies the bar manager fell out with the owners, and purloined all the booze stock and most of the fixtures, it was said that he was connected to the Richardson's, a London East End Gang who were the competition to the Kray twins.

The InTime was nearer to the street ramp. I'm getting my bearings serioudly mixed up here......Yes the 'kiosk' entry was at the top of the ramp solely from Merrion Street wasn't it, not the ramp from |Wade Lane as I thought?Have trawled Leodis for one for ages and found nowt - mybe a wander down there will clear the cobwebs

Can't give any more info myself as no longer in Leeds. I remember seeing Le Phonograph kiosk in the centre of the Merrion Centre. The Intime was as quoted " The InTime was half way up the ramp on the left hand side (going up), and the door is still there"Madness to assume time ever stood still. By the way, anyone ever go to the Plebeians Jazz Club in Halifax...?http://www.julianmoseley.pwp.blueyonder ... zzclub.htm

Phono was one of the first clubs I went to in Leeds circa '2001 so certainly later than some. Friends of mine later socialised at the club regularly as part of the 'Raw Nerve' scene so it was disappointing for me when I eventually moved here that the club closed. Sad that SubCulture also eventually bit the dust, it seems a 'Clubs Closing Now' thread may also be needed! Thanks for the info on the several threads this one links to, fascinating reading of the old underground of the Merrion area.

[quotenick="Chrism"]Pic from Uncle Mick.Got a chance to wander that way today (minus camera) and found how well being there logs the faded memory thing. Merrion news is of course now a currency exchange and the door to Phono I'm sure still exists behind the adjacent panel, and the 'door on the ramp', Intime, Subculture - is hidden behind a hoarding advertising the fresh new look that's coming along.
