Pound Shop opening in Headingley Arndale?

Have heard the 3 empty shops next to Wilkinsons are opening as one large Pound Shop...does anyone know if this is true?If it is true, how do I find out who is opening it?I'm hoping to get in early with my CV!Fingers crossed here, cheers Riverlady

It wouldn't surprise me - Pound shops seem to be the only real growth area in retail at the moment. In Halifax, Poundland has occupied the whole of the former Woolworths store, making it one of the biggest shops in the town centre - and it's always busy.As Phill says though, be careful what you buy!

I think I might regret asking this .. but not being back to the UK for nearly 10 years what CAN you get for a pound? Not much surely?

Some stuff in pounds shops can seem a bargain at only a £, sweets , biscuits, drinks etc etc etc . But then you go to your supermarket and you can get them for less. It just seems like a bargain as it's only a quid. Also you walk round and before you know it your trolley/basket is full and you've spent £20, or more.

The pound shops are fine for me - well "Poundland" in particular. I know of nowhere else where you can get boxes of 88 (and occasionally 100) Tetley tea bags for a quid. Also, unlikely though it may seem, their £1 fresh sandwiches are pretty tasty too.

There is a specific size / weight of Tobelerone bar for these stores to enable it to be sold for a quid for example.As for cans of fizzy pop, well they cost virtually nothing to make (a few pennies per can), so if the order is big enough then they can sell them at whatever price they like.As has been said earlier though you have to have your wits about you - while there are lots of bargains to be had, some items are cheaper elsewhere.

well thanks for the insight ..... they obviously a much wider range of merchandise than I could ever have imaged - sandwiches too!
