I stand corrected - just that when I drove past at around 7 on Saturday night the Rag and Louse didnt look open and the Tut and Shive has had at least 1 if not 2 big reopenings in the past few years and like the other is soon shut again. It makes you wonder if they'll ever be really viable in this time of such change in the pub world.

I hear a rumour that its going to be a mini Tesco......In Guiseley the 'Drop' appears to be closed.Work is going on at the New Inn, all signage has been taken down and I'd be surprised if it reopens as a pub There is a report on page 9 of the YEP today about the closure of The Queen, which is to be converted into a Tesco Express supermarket. This is the link to the online report:- http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 515055With the YEP report there is also one about Tesco holding a public exhibition on its plans for a new supermarket and district centre in the Kirkstall area of Leeds.

Always jammed packed and I never saw any trouble in what was a great estate pub. Always had plently of football lads in, mostly from the Moor Grange area plus a feww from Burley , Kirkstall areaSad I know but time marches on and drinking habits changing with time too. Fond memories remain and always will, funny how just a ordinary pub can hold many strong recollections

And never any trouble.

And never any trouble. I have to plead ignorance to any knowledge of the pub, same as with The Dalesman on Butcher Hill. It was one of those pubs I passed on the way to Abbey Grange School. However it's interesting to go in them now - bit like an oddball graduation party of sorts - cheers

After a little walk around Burley area last night I was wondering if this building on the junction of Woodsley Road and Westfield Road was once a pub or was it an off license, there are the old signs on the side of the building and the windows do look very "publike", also in front there looks to be the remains of the surround to what was maybe a door to the beer cellar? Can anyone shed any light?

It's not marked off on any old map as a public house at any point in time Tommy. It just appears to be a big old house on the corner plot.
