There are currently none! the 'last man standing' was the Waggon and Horses(which has Melbourne courtier windows) which now appears to be closed. Drapesy, you've surprised me by saying that the Wagon & Horses at Laisterdyke has closed. Altho' I tend to avoid Leeds Road as I prefer my car to remain undented, it's not so long since I went past and there wasn't any evidence of closure then. However, it's demography. Pubs in predominantly Muslim areas of Bradford have closed wholesale in recent years, well above the rate elsewhere. The Wagon also bucked the Leeds Road trend by being located on the left coming uphill out of Bradford; all the others were on the opposite side. The nature of Stanningley has also changed. It's sad that the recent surge in housing hasn't produced the clientele to support its pubs

(To be honest it looks like there is a lot of damage inside) Landlord has moved to the Wortley Labour Club (and so have the regulars) Not boarded up yet ! Called in last night. It is still open but they have no beer (only lager and other women's drinks). The relief manager said they were expecting a delivery of Tetley's mild today, and they would have the hand pumps working soon. So there is still hope.

Tha's takin' a chance Major C, calling lager a womans drink? Be prepared for some flack after that statement, especially from our younger contributers! LOL

I've noticed that the Victoria pub in Sheepscar is available to buy at £160,000. It depends on what planning permission can be got and conversion costs, but that could prove cheap for a property developer in a run down area that looks ready for major redeveloping.

Both the Tut and Shive and the pub opposite (Rag and Louse and all its other names) Yeadon are shut again surely that must be the end for these pubs - after the multiple opening and closings they surely can never be profitable - the area being plainly overpubbed.Noticed the Skinners Arms, Sheepscar is in other use now by some other form of business - signage etc.I also noticed in town last night that the Viaduct is now a gay "showbar" ie not a pub and this after all that commotion in the YEP a few years ago when it was originally going to shut and it was kept open on the back of a campaign about it being THE Leeds United pub in town etc. Duncan still defying the odds and going strong though!

I hate to contradict but the Tut and Shive is being refitted and is due to be reopened. The 'Rag' is still open but up for sale.
