On the kerb nearby (opposite the Black Bull,) is another unusual carving. It looks like a pair of compasses (Masonic connection?) I'll try and get a photo.Incidentally, the Templar Cross carving nearly succumbed to road "improvements" last week, when two new pedestrian crossing points were constructed (less than ten yards apart.) Luckily the carved kerbstone survived!

I've spotted another unusual kerbstone marking in Otley market place. On the edge of the path which runs diagonally across the square, just in front of the telephone boxes, is carved an asterisk (*).So that's a Templar cross, a Masonic compass, and a "star" (as well as the usual <BL> and F markings.Any theories?
