I think it was later turned into a fish and chip bar. Anyway does anyone remember the fruit machine/ bingo machine type game that was there? Does anyone remember playing on that machine?http://www.flickr.com/photos/27677450@N ... 42005/This is a picture of the cafe after it became a fish and chip shopHope someone can get back in touchPaul Hi PaulYes I remember Dennis's well. Back around 1977-82 as a teenager I often went there with my pals on Saturday afternoons, before wandering around second-hand record shops and generally being a nuisance. If anyone remembers a bunch of denim-clad, Saturday-happy teenage lads stuffing themselves with chips, it was probably me and my mates. Hey Linky OikWhen you used to go to Dennis's as a 'denim-clad teenager' do you remember a type of pinball/bingo machine? (it used to cost around sixpence a go in the 60's) Or was it not there in the late 70's?

To anyone who's wondering about the pinball/bingo machine, there's nothing hidden in it. Sorry to dissapoint you all The reason I'm inquiring about it is that I used to have a lot of fun with my mates, spending my loose change. I think it'd be great if anyone could remember this machine, I think it would be a wonderful thing to have back in the shops and cafes now Paul

All bottles of Coke and Fanta & long hippie dresses smelling of petunia oil...that was one stance..then the scooter boys started coming in cos the rockers round the town was bugging 'em so they had to find a place to hide.LOL..Many good memories. I was selling hot dogs from a barrow round the town and at Elland Road on match days at the time.

I was talking with an old mate last night over a pint. We got to reminiscing, as you do, and he mentioned that Maria (Mamma) Scire had passed away during the summer. Some may remember that the Scires had a few coffee bars in Leeds over the years. I have fond memories of the Conca d'Oro back in the 60s in particular.
