Middleton woods today as I took the dog walking, makes you glad to be alive.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

Fascinating duplication of names here - there is an area of Ilkley also called Middleton Woods - it lies on the back road to Otley via Askwith, both sides of the road near the open air swimming pool. When I lived there many years ago there was always a beautiful display of bluebells there, and no doubt still is.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

My wife can vouch that there is - she went through the Ilkley Middleton Woods with her walking group last Thursday.

I'll be running through there at 'Spring Bank', on the (Ilkley Harriers) 'Trail Race', as will 'fellrunner' (also of this site)http://www.ilkleyharriers.org.uk/index. ... =trailI'll definately be having a good 'drool' over the gorgeous 'White House' on the way out, & again, on the return run, and wishing I bought lottery ticketshttp://www.dacres.co.uk/property-details.php?p ... 170637Last year, at the time of the 'Trail Race', a new Art-Deco (or so it seemed) house was being built next door.Does anyone know what the story is with that one???

I found these at Temple Newsam this lunchtime. Apologies for the phone camera quality. I decided not to take my camera as we were "only" taking the dog for a walk. So (as sods law dictates) there were these bluebells, a big group of ducklings on the lake and two wild baby rabbits eating dandelions on the edge of the car park...It was marvelous up there today - nice and quiet too, I don't know where everyone was...
