Used to be in the Art Deco Main Hall. Entrance was down the stairs to the Gents toilets. ISTR that shaving kits were also available, or the option of use of an electric shaver. One of the kids at my school said that his elder brother, a newspaper reporter, frequently had a bath there, as the hot water was constant, and there was no pressure to hurry. This gave me an urge to try for myself, but somehow I never screwed up the courage (I was about 14 at the time). Did anyone on here ever have the experience?

No, I never went in there to bathe Uno Hoo, but the toilets were a handy facility for we Ledgard staff during our twelve minutes standing time in nearby King Street before returning to Ilkley via Guiseley. The sign above the doorway in the station concourse was in the form of a metal stencil, with orange lettering illuminated from within, and the shape of it is still apparent today. The sign said :- G E N T L E M E N ' S Toilet Bath and Dressing Rooms
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
