That's quite right Geordie and many hundreds in the Cookridge and Tinshill vicinities took advantage of the offer - they could also have their houses double glazed at the same time. Sorry about that Geordie, just a bit of mischief, no harm intended. Seriously, yes, that offer was made and accepted widely. I asked for that.Yes, I think there was some furore concerning a: the cost of said project to the ratepayers of Leeds, and b: neighbours just outside the catchment area who had to look on enviously as people down the other end of the street got their spanking new windows.

A "workmate" of mine - an awkward little cuss who just loved trouble and arguments - really strung them along for months and declined every size, shape and colour of windows - and finally threw the Teddy out of his pram, refused the offer, and moved house to a property which had already been done - anything to be awkward !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Announced in the travel news on Radio Leeds tonight that a flight from Sharm El-Sheik is delayed until 00:35 (twenty five to one tomorrow morning), so that will definitely be one late landing tonight.
