I appreciate the "spend to save" idea but we all know from numerous other big projects that a/ they go way over budget and b/ they often do not produce the anticipated savings. My point was that yes, it may be a good idea but when other things are being cut to the bone the money could be spent on more immediate things that affect people daily in a direct fashion.

Out of interest I've just clicked on the 'Celebrate Leeds 2007' on the SL Active Threads page and found that "The domain celebrateleeds07.com is for sale". I would guess that there will not be much (if any) interest, but you never know. I have not posted the domain seller's web address so as not to advertise a commercial site.

The theory is to save money now to provide more dosh to preserve other services in the longer term but, I know what you mean.We should remember too that not all these decisions are automonous - things like this are partially Government driven to fulfill their electronic information and service aims - and they are far more reaching than is readily appreciated at present

Could be a cheap buy for someone planning a big event in Millennium Square during 2107 though...

It was taken by Marketing Leeds around the advent of Secret Leeds, but lapsed some time ago around the time they revamped their main site?
