As it was even in the late '50s when, due to circumstances, a couple of kids from an obscure branch of our family got sent to Bristol by Social Services to be fostered. Nobody could afford to make the trip to Bristol, nobody ever saw them again. :-(

In the original pic we are supposedly looking towards brick street with the viaduct on the left. So we are looking roughly east?So the grain warehouse would be the other side of the viaduct?The view has to be towards Marsh Lane station so is it the building there?Where's the raincoat factory?

Oh if that's the case then I've got it totally wrong. The second picture I put up was on the corner of where the bus station now is ie on the junction of York Street, St Peter's Street and Duke Street. Opposite corner to where the Lloyds Arms was. It states on Leodis that it was a seven storey raincoat warehouse.Have I lost the plot and was looking in totally the wrong direction?

Oh yes, dogduke. Thanks.And that picture supports that it was located on the corner of the bus station. But is it the building in the original picture?

But is it the building in the original picture? .I reckon........................The Leodis comments state that the photo is looking across the dividingwall towards Towlands Court.The first map posted shows their postions inrelation to Brick St/Brussels St etc.After about Brussels St the railway curves away to the right and Marsh Lane passenger stn.The Building you see is I think the Marsh Lane goodswarehouse in a direct line of view from Off Court.

D'oh. I'm lost again now. So are we saying the original building is the one visible from the rail lines?Where would it be on an aerial map?
