My final and only thought on the subject. No disrespect was intended in my post on here and the comment I posted on flickr was just a rose tinted memory. It would be a crying shame if the poster chose to remove the images due to some unintended or perceived sleight and I for one would like to sincerely thank him for posting some fascinating images that show Leeds just before I was born. If the matter can now be laid to rest and hopefully more images posted then that would be the finest solution all round. The images of York Road are of particular personal interest as I've always lived within a mile of so of it, at various locations throughout east Leeds, so I've seen lots of changes in my lifetime, but never the actual construction of what forms the basis of the current dual carriageway. If I had a pound for every time I've travelled up or down York Road, I'd probably still be sat here but I could at least afford to have the heating on!

The stream has been removed, I'm upset about this as these shots are part of our history, is there any chance of retrieving them, Does any one know how we can obtain them from Leeds Civic Trust

No apologies to me needed Brandy. I just felt it was the honourable thing to speak out for the guy. I felt guilty for linking to his material, it wouldn't have happened if i'd not have done that. But i'm not quite sure how such an innocent thing in the spirit of what S.L is about could have got to that. And don't you dare think about quitting S.L mate. Your humour and jokes would be badly missed

All may not be lost, I had 29 pics in my cache which I have salvaged. For Firefox users type about:cache in the address bar, this show you where the cache is on disk (the area used to temporarily save files). When you see the list search for "flickr" and you should see a local link to the files. Like I said I managed to get 29 this way and save them to my hard disk, I reckon between us we could get the whole set.

Brandy, resignation is not the answer, I second Phils' commentsyour contribution is spot on!
