There's also a transcription there - the price is 2 shillings and 3 pence, by the way.
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

I was surprised to see this and would have thought that it had been long gone.

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

It's the old Tatler in City Square isn't it? Formerly the News Theatre.I remember there being a pub in there around early 1980s. What was that called?

Swift response! Well done lads.Mind, that name's not ringing bells. Was it something else before Harlequin?

I do apologise, I never even thought to state the location. Thanks Drapesy and Phild,As to the Harlequin bar, while it’s true that the Tatler Cinema did later become the Harlequin, the entrance was straight from City Square, and the location of my photo, just inside the 1930 entrance foyer to the City Station, has been a “concession” [small shop unit] on and off during and after the Tatler and Harlequin periods.I also think that I remember it being something else after it was Harlequin’s, possibly Beach Blanket Babylon or Bondi Beach Bar? [not Baja Beach Club, that’s some other over-hyped trash]
