At last. Somebody had to say it. Well done Phil. Since Secret Leeds started back in 2007, only one person has caused as much upset and consternation as STICKS and that person was, I believe, banned PDQ. I’m reasonably sure that the moderators and the admins have had a bit of a hard time of late, in deciding what to do, but Phil had hit the nail on the head.I could never be quite sure if this chap was genuinely daft or genuinely went out of his way to be abrasive. It’s nothing to do with the fact that he’s new to the forum, off the top of my head I can think of a couple of newer members who’s posts are solid gold.Nor is it the style of his posts. I know that many people write as they speak but some of his replied are beyond that. For anybody who thinks that these comments may be a bit “off”, look at his posting record;188 Posts to 25 Threads, 13 of which were started by him anyway, and of the 13, there was only really one which was in the “style to which we have become accustomed” and that wasn’t about Leeds anyway.Do we really need this kind of discord? I don’t believe that we do.I was always of the opinion that Secret Leeds was a happy accident of like minded individuals and that’s how I’ve tried to explained it to other people [two of whom have become members], and while there have been disagreements, as far as I’m aware, they have mostly been over factual content. While I’m not coming to Leeds especially for the “get together”, it’s a big part of my reason for doing so. As such, I agree with Phil and add that such a discordant member certainly wouldn’t be made welcome by me either.

Sticks, I have viewed your series of posts on this site with increasing discomfort. You have an unfortunate habit of interpreting comments- such as Cnosni's "How tall are you" - as attacks on yourself, when in fact they are gentle banter and joking comments. This site is full of such daftness, and only thin-skinned or paranoid people have taken offence. You appear to have an unbelievably thin skin, which, coupled to a tendency to become instantly aggressive in a completely unacceptable way is rapidly turning the entire membership of the site against you.I believe that with a change of attitude on your part people will once more accept you, but threats, confrontation, and "biting" at the least perceived criticism where none exists must stop.If you are unable to accept this polite advice then, with regret, I must add my voice to those who feel you are no longer welcome.

Well its certainly to the point, whatever one's view. But i have also had some accusations made against myself, which are actually untrue.I would hope that you would view those accusations and the threats of physical violence to others on this site as being even nastier,if one simply sits back and allows such behaviour to go unchallenged, despite requests from moderators to desist and warnings from admins to the same then this site will be no more, simple as.I dont see why a good night out should be tarnished by a bad atmosphere,i really dont and neither do others, some of whom havce emailed me without wishing to get involved.I am taking the opinions from others as to what we should do with the "do",as it was mine and Brandy's idea and with Jonesy's help we set up what we thought would be an enjoyable evening. However i cant help thinking that some people who may not have committed yet would like to attend are being put off coming. With that in mind, and with this being essentially a private get together of friends rather than a council sponsored event for members then we are possibly looking at other options so that anyone wishing to come to an evening without an atmosphere of confrontation can do so.So,opinions please. What ever happens something will go ahead.
