I don't see Georges Cafe near Leeds Bridge [and the one across the road I can't remember...Jimmy Saville used it quite often late on]...it was open 24hrs and was one mean fry-up!! Sometimes we used to get a 'card-school' going in the early hours there..usually poker I think. The other two 24hrs places I remember was the Tomato Dips...Hunslet and Kirkstall RoadRing any bells folks?

The Kirkstall Road "Dip" was great at any hour of the day or night - lovely big white breadcakes heavily bestowed with tasty tomatoes and dip. How that road has altered over the years - was "The Dip" somewhere just the City side of the Leeds City Transport works on the same side ??

"I was in the Crossgates Centre the other week and I noticed that the Wimpy up the stairs has closed - I know a Wimpy is no great loss but that was one of the few burger joints where they had table service and you got your food on a plate with a knife and fork. Many happy memories of going there for a 'birthday treat' as a young 'un so I felt quite sad to see it closed. "That's sad, i don;t live in Crossgates anymore but i was over there for an interview earlier in the year with the people who manage the centre and the Wimpy was the only thing left i can remember from cira 1979. They said there are a couple of others but i guess not obvious stuff to me.
