The only reason there taking there time is to make sure they don't bring the whole of Kirkgate down with it. It certainly isn't to salvage as much as possible from the White Cloth hall. I think it's a disgrace to be honest.

This does not look like 'meticulous' and careful preservation of building fabric to me.

A suggestion was that they would replicate as much as possible of the old building in the new - looks like 'replica' is going to be the best they might manage - wonder if that OSB is the backing for some 'authentic' fibreglass replica cloth hall brickwork.

I had a look at what I could of the area today (September 17) from Kirkgate and round the back and it certainly looks like a demolition site. I didn't however have my camera with me. There was a hoist-like thing that had a couple of men in it when I was there. They would have had a very good high view of the whole area and I hope they took some photos.

A thought does come to mind - given the likely fate of the building now, maybe it's a good job they didn't come back. Have to wonder if the 'owners' new something we didn't - or maybe I'm just being suspicious.

yes,the skulls will probably be homeless son on their original site.however it would still be nice to see them somewhere like the museum.

The intention, at least as far as I was concerned, was never to be the return of the skulls to their original location.
