Its fine if there is only one thread with 20 posts but when its the skulls or lost pubs thread you have to wade through 40+pages. The world's favourite (alledgedly) search engine usually does better e.g. one that I pointed out duplication on yesterdayhttp://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&client=fi ... afe=images Came across this problem as well - difficulty in finding specific messages on very long threads. One work around is to use the "print" thread facility using the link below - just replace the thread number and all the "pages" appear on one "page" - it is then just a case of using the page search facility.e.g. the link below shows all the lost pub pages on one page (I think)http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/PrintM ... readID=300 Or simply - click on the "print thread" icon

Just found this site /thread,altho i no longer live in Leeds(indeed i was originally from Hull and then the North Yorkshire Dales) i spent a lot of time drinking in proper pubs in Leeds 1981--90, nice to see on here my time spent drinking with "Drapesy" around Hunslet,Chapel allerton and other Leeds areas has been put to good use by him---his taste in beer always better than his taste in football teams!!lol.Great to see pics of "the Crown" opp Tetleys ,watched Live AID THERE after a day in the furniture store on Whitehall Road,The Engine,Duck and Drake,The Mulberry,Blooming Rose,Mustard Pot,Brassmoulders, all places i,ve never forgotten ,but great to hear them mentioned with such obvious esteem. Great site and much needed the way pubs are going to the wall at the moment.                                 Thanks for the memories                                                                     T.C.

The reopening of the New Inn, Guiseley, was short-lived - The metal shutters have made an unwelcome return!!

Metal shutters are up at The Impearial in Beeston. 'Upgraded' from the wooden boarding from a week ago.

Seems to have gone unreported here but the Crown on Lowtown, Pudsey , which had the metal shutters up, has been refurbished and reopened

Possible not known to many on here but The New Scarborough on the Old Dewsbury Road (behind New White Bear) at Tingley is dark. It used to be very popular and despite being on a cul de sac there are plenty of houses around it,

Hi I've just joined secretleeds today and was reading the thread of lost forgotten pubs, there are 89 pages so I haven't read them all yet so sorry if i'm repeating. Three or four pubs come to mind, the first of which was The Staging Post in Stanks Leeds 14, where my mam worked for almost twenty years. I haven't been back in years, is it still there? Next up the Courtiers at the bottom of Oak Tree Drive, it used to be the Oak Tree before that I think. Also in Seacroft was the Sovreign which was inside Seacroft Centre. And finally, in addition to the three famous Cross Green Pubs, the Fishermans Hut, The Black Dog and The Spring Close there was the Waterloo which was towards just round the corner from Crown Point Bridge, can't remember the name of the street now.

Does anyone remember the Starlight Bar, it was behind the old Shaftsbury Picture House, York Road, on the Harehills Lane side? That was a rough place to be on a Saturday night!
