Just looked at a large-scale 1890 map of the Mill Green area, which shows that the Mill Green Goit was the boundary between Holbeck and Wortley at this time (surveyed in 1888 ). To the north west of the goit is the Bramley Poor Law Union, the Wortley Parish, and the New Wortley Ward. To the south east is the Holbeck Union, Parish and Ward. So, Mill Green (the lane) is definitely in Wortley at this time. Strangely, though, the Holbeck Corn Mill (for which the Mill Green Goit was probably dug in the first place) is also in Wortley, which might indicate that the boundary changed after the goit was dug.
